How many times have you heard, "We can't work, our systems are down!" or, "The internet keeps buffering!", "Our VoIP calls are crap!" or even, "The Wi-Fi keeps dropping out!" The problems with technology seem to be constant and endless ...
Do any of those phrases sound familiar in your business? In a report commissioned in 2015, a survey of business leaders at more than 200 UK companies revealed that two-thirds (65%) of firms have lost revenue as a result of a technology or systems failure.
"Of these, 44% said that key projects were delayed or halted as a result!"
However, every problem has a solution. Firstly, if you are a business owner and I mean you operate under a business name, stop thinking like a consumer! If your IT company recommend a product and give you a price on something like a laptop, please have some respect for their expertise and don't immediately look on Amazon or go down to Currys/PC World and check the price.
Your IT company is also a small business and more than likely, their price will include professional services like setting up the device and ensuring the laptop is not going to pick up any nasty viruses. Online or high-street retailers won't do that for you.
Secondly, choose vendors that offer business-grade service level guarantees. This means that, if there is a problem, you will get the fastest possible response based on your contract/agreement. If you take out a residential agreement, such as you may on Full Fibre Broadband to a home office, it will be half the price, but the repair time could be days, leaving your business without that all-important internet access.
When growing as a company, ensure that your in-house or outsourced technology people have the all-around knowledge to build a technically robust infrastructure!
The bigger the company, the bigger the risk of attack. That just stands to reason. However, any size of company can get hacked and it is easier to design a network that will grow with security in mind, rather than just adding and adding to the network rapidly and then at some point having to rip it all out as there are lots of leaks in the system.
"In this day and age, good technology companies will know IT, Telecoms, Wi-Fi, IoT and Cloud!"
Does your current provider offer all that? It's an understatement to say we are massively reliant on technology today. With hackers now able to actually buy ready-to-deploy malware, it is now more important than ever to have your IT systems checked for any leaks and data breaches on a regular basis.
Until next time ...

The word 'Technology' has too many connotations in today's world!
Where do we start? Simple terms like 'IT' and 'Telecoms'? or terms that appear NOT to have an actual meaning at all!, e.g. 'Internet of Things (IoT).
Technology also encompasses specialist products and services like 'Rugged' and 'Tough' android devices, Lone Worker Software, panic alarm devices, smart energy devices, low energy lighting, credit card terminal (PCI DSS) security, indoor/ outdoor Wi-Fi systems, Ultrafast Gigabit internet connectivity, access control systems, industrial IoT circuit controllers.
BTS UK can consult from simple solutions to the most complex, provide some of the products through a wholesale channel, bring together a multi-disciplined 'Task Force' to deliver and implement complete Technology 'projects'.
I am your technology problem solver and I look forward to helping you.
